HUNGRY EARS EAT... PAULINE MANSON

It's funny how stuff happens, how you find bands, or in some ways how bands find you. It was whilst looking up information on the amazingly interesting Rank/Xerox via Tim "Treebeard" Adams that I found a Soundcloud page for a label called ROS (RIVULET OF SPORES) that I know verily little about... But after sampling what they had to offer, I found quite a gem... Its a band called PAULINE MANSON who are apparently from Perth Australia and have two cassette releases available whose eight total tracks you can find for free downloading...

If you are a fan of THE FALL or BEAT HAPPENING then please, take note! PAULINE MANSON bring to mind loose 'kitchen sink' punk like THE SCREAMIN MEE-MEE'S or the Australian version of X. Yeah, theres a tad touch of surf-rock in there too thats latent, but tugs at my ear a bit. Anyone out there remember a band called ELECTRIC BLANKET? Well, PAULINE MANSON has the same creative feel to their songs that Electric Blanket had! It's almost like PAULINE MANSON occupy the same certain wavelength that that band rode. trust me, PAULINE MANSON are onto something!

Supposedly, the two cassettes Washed to Oblivion and 999 are concept releases dealing with the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas (they have those in Australia?), with Oblivion dealing more so on the relationship of two brothers...

The accessibility of downloading the eight songs from this band has derailed my journey of Rank/Xerox (who Treebeard claims have some music out there for free download too) for a bit... But nothing I cant get back into again at my leisure. Begin your journey into the realm of Pauline Manson HERE its a page associated with ROS Records and has roundabout links to both cassette releases where you can download the tracks for free and look at lyric sheets for the songs and learn a bit more( not much more) about the band...

I have included some other things I ran into while buring the search engines for, and including something from Rank/Xerox:
